COVID-19 Updates for April 3, 2020
As it’s become clear that COVID-19 will affect the entire United States, the federal government has stepped up both assistance and regulations of workplaces:
- The Department of Labor has Fact Sheets, Q&A, and posters related to Paid Sick Leave and expanded FMLA for COVID-19. The new posters must be added to your required workplace posters.
- The Small Business Administration has Economic Injury loans available, plus a $349 billion Paycheck Protection Program.
- Senator Durbin of Illinois has posted The Small Business Owners Guide to the CARES Act, a detailed list of programs available to business owners through the bill passed by Congress last week.
Washington state continues to update https://coronavirus.wa.gov/business-workers
- There is now an Essential Business Inquiries form you can use to see if you are considered an essential business or to request status as an essential business.
